THE VENUE

The Festival will be held at the National Sports Centre, Groves Road, Douglas, IM2 1RB, Isle of Man. This venue has two sports halls a main hall and a secondary hall, the festival will be held in the main hall which will have pulled out bleacher seating for 100 spectators / competitors, accessible from the main foyer. 

We will have 8 courts for the weekend, There is a café on the main foyer level which caters for many dietary requirements including gluten free and vegan and participants will get a discount on any food or drinks purchased at the Aqua Café. 

The NSC also has a 25m swimming pool, children's water slides etc and there is a Spa area with sauna’s, a steam room and jacuzzi should you wish to pamper those tired limbs.

EVENT FORMAT

This is a Festival and as such, all play will be of a social nature, with no round robins, leagues or knockouts and no trophies or medals will be awarded.

At check-in, each player will be given a magnet with their name and chosen skill category on it.  These will be used to control the scheduling of games in conjunction with magnet boards. Although players will be asked to specify their skill category as part of the online registration, this can be changed during the day if required.

All games will be doubles but there might be capacity for some singles towards the end of the day.

Taped lines will be used to create full NVZ's. The festival balls have kindly been donated by Pickleball People

EVENT SCHEDULE

Check-in will open at 8.30 and the courts will be in use continuously from 9am-5.30pm.  Players can take breaks at any time - check out the Aqua Cafe for special offers on snacks, drinks and lunches.  

The courts must be cleared by 5.45pm.

COVID-19

Currently there are no Covid 19 restrictions in place however the organisers would expect participants to be sensible and if they have symptoms or have tested positive for Covid they should do not attend the Festival, for the benefit of everyone. 

REGISTRATION & FEES

The registration fee is £50 for the weekend.

By ticking the terms & conditions box on the registration form, you agree to the following:

Cancellation and refund requests must be made by 23:59 GMT on 6th August, however a £10 administration fee will be applied to all cancellations made up to this date. After this date registration fees are non-refundable. 

Promise to follow Pickleball England code of conduct and uphold Pickleball England values  Signing this waiver:

"I release and discharge, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, the organisers, the facility, its members, employees and sponsors and all persons associated with the festival from all claims, damages, rights of action present or future which may arise in connection with my participation in the Festival. I understand that filming and photographs will be taken at this event and I give permission to Isle of Man Pickleball Festival to use the creative content to advertise, promote or showcase the event. I understand that it is my responsibility to make it known that I do not wish to have my picture taken or my games filmed.  This event is primarily for adults over 18 years of age, however we do appreciate that many young people play Pickleball along with their parents we won’t have specific courts for under 18 year olds, if they attend they will need to play in adult matches. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times."

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

The isle of Man is a British Crown Dependency which is self Governed, however King Charles III is recognised as The Lord of Man and as such we have a Lieutenant Governor who lives on the Island and acts as His Majesty’s Representative. 

Easyjet, Aer Lingus, British Airways and Logan Air all fly into Ronaldsway Isle of Man Airport. From London City, Gatwick and Heathrow, Manchester Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Dublin and Belfast. (Please check timetables as not all routes have daily connections.)

Flights from Gatwick are approx 1 hour 15min, flights from Manchester are approx 45min, flights from Birmingham are approx 55min, flights from Bristol are approx 55min, flights from Liverpool are approx 40min, flights from Dublin are approx 50min and flights from Belfast are approx 40min.
