Sherborne 3.0-3.5 Fun Festival

We have exclusive use of 5 courts in the recently opened new Sherborne Boys Sports Hall.  

This is a Festival and as such, all play will be of a social nature; no round robins, leagues or knockouts and no trophies or medals will be awarded.  A fun but simple format will be used where players place their names on a court board, as individuals, pairs or fours and play in fun, competitive (or not) games, with players from other clubs/regions.  Play when you want and rest when you like.  Players can take breaks at any time by simply removing their manget from the board.

Capacity will be capped to 48 passes.  book now to avoid disappointment.  The Franklin X26 ball will be used at the event.

Hot and cold meals & snacks are available at the venue cafe, The Hub

Take time out to make new friends

All food and drink must be consumed off court

Schedule:

Date:  Saturday 18th Novermber 2023

Check in opens 09:00 hrs.  At check-in, players will be given a magnet with their name on.

09:20 hrs. Players briefing, It is the player’s responsibility to attend the venue briefing before starting to play.

Continual play till 17:30 hrs. 

All games will be doubles format.

You do need to bring your Paddle.

The Hub cafe will be open 09:00 - 15:00

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

You agree to the following conditions:

• One entry per player, payment made at time of registration.
• By registering for the festival, you consent to photographs and video being taken and used by PBE. These may be used but not limited to social media threads and/or communications. 
• Players aged under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult/parent or guardian.
• Refunds can be requested at any point. Refund requests recieved after 1st Nov will incur a 50% admin fee subject to the following exception. If a replacement player is found before 7th Nov, the admin fee will be waived.
• Player check-in will open at 9am. A player briefing will be provided at check in.  Players will not be permitted to play before 9:30 am.
• Food and drink will be available from the Hub Café. .
• All food and drink must be consumed outside of the playing hall.
• The organizers reserve the right to refuse entry and/or alter the program where necessary at any time. In all matters their decision shall be final. 
• Players must wear appropriate attire and foot wear to play or enter the hall for Pickleball play.
• All Covid restrictions have now been lifted but the organisers would expect participants to be sensible and if they have symptoms or have tested positive for Covid they do not attend the Festival  If a substitute can be arranged beforehand that would be helpful but not essential. 
• Any unresolved disputes must be addressed by the Event Directors.
•  By registering players agree to the following:

RELEASE, PERMISSION, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT Waiver. In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in the Pickleball Festival (“the Festival”), I, for myself, my heirs or assigns, do hereby release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the Festival Pickleball Players or the organisers, its/their officers, employees and agents from liability from any and all claims resulting in personal injuries, accidents or illnesses (including death) and property loss arising from my participation in the Festival.  

Assumption of Risk. Participation in the Festival carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. The specific risks vary, but include 1) minor injuries such as bruises, sprains and dehydration, 2) major injuries such as eye injuries, joint, bone or back injuries, heat stroke, heart attacks, and concussions, and 3) catastrophic injuries such as paralysis and death. I have read the previous paragraphs, conditions of entry and I know, understand and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in playing Pickleball. I assert that my participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks.  I also agree to indemnify and hold the Pickleball Festival harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including solicitor’s fees brought as a result of my involvement in the festival. I also give the Pickleball Festival and its agents and designees permission to use or distribute, without limitation or obligation, my image, name, voice, and words for any purpose connected with the Festival, including promotional, marketing, training, informational, and archival uses. 

Registration confirms acceptance of the conditions of entry, i.e. you are agreeing with the release, permission and indemnity agreement as shown above.
