2024 English Nationals Pickleball Tournament

Thank you so much for choosing to attend the English Nationals. This is our fourth edition at Bolton so for those that have been here before, it feels familiar and like a mini holiday!

This year in order to increase capacity in events, we took the tough decision to separate out Singles and make this a Doubles only event. When looking at the registration list, we realised that the growth of pickleball has been so big, that we don’t know all of the competitors anymore. When we started going to tournaments in 2016, we met the same people for the next few years. We are hopeful that the experienced players will show the new players the ropes and ensure that they make new friends and have a fabulous time. The competition is important but enjoying your time at the event is equally important, so that you feel you are part of a friendly community.

For the singles players among you, as at time of going to press, we are still working through timing and location for a Singles Nationals.

Last year we had 680 players, this year we have 1,111, which is more than last year’s English OPEN which was open to all countries! To play in the English Nationals you need to either have been born in England or live in England.

This year’s Nationals could well be determining the final squad of players to represent England at this year’s European Pickleball Championships (22-23 November) in Southampton. A short list was drawn up in October and the results of the tournament could affect the final listing! We will make known the eligible short listed players during the event.

Some of our sponsors have booths at the tournament, please go and visit them and see if they have any treats for you. They are all located on the first floor which is accessible via the gantry staircase or via the lift. We also have the return of the Selfie Pod which is now a feature of our tournaments. Make sure you get a photo with your pickleball friends and with your medals!
