REGISTRATION FOR the 5th English OPEN 6th-10th August 2025

We are delighted to announce that registration for the 2025 English OPEN will open on Sunday 18th May at 8pm.  We are again anticipating 2,000 players from over 45 countries maintaining the event as the largest outside North America.

We have again secured Telford International Centre in Shropshire as the venue.  Situated in the heart of the UK, Telford International Centre’s incredibly accessible location offers all the benefits of a city centre, without the hassle.  Three huge event halls are complemented by a large range of break-out spaces – perfect for hosting some of the UK’s most prestigious sporting and corporate events. The Centre and the new Event Quarter was created specifically for modern day events of all kinds.  Sitting opposite the main venue, the Event Quarter features a host of restaurants, bars, hotels, and leisure facilities. Telford town centre is just a short walk away, providing further opportunities for entertainment and activities. For those who prefer the great outdoors, the stunning Shropshire countryside provides breath-taking views and scenic distractions.
 

We have hired all 3 halls which will be event ready from Wednesday 6th August through to Sunday 10th August with 40 pickleball courts rolled out and secured ensuring no distracting lines!  This year we are adding an exhibition area utilising the Ludlow Suite.

Also new this year, we will be offering some seminars that will be of interest to players, club leaders, country National Governing Bodies.  More information will be released as it becomes available.  We are working with Telford Pickleball Club (the first pickleball specific facility in the UK) to offer Clinic and Play with a Pro opportunities on Friday 8th August.  Finally, we have added a para pickleball event on Thursday 7th.  A doubles event with the players able to play using adaptive rules.  There is just one event to see what the take up will be, there will be no grading.  Dependent on the number of registrations, we will either get players to partner up to play the event or we will run it like the wheelchair event has been played in recent events - play with and against players in your group, with a standings table to identify the medal winners. This event was specifically requested by players from Ukraine and we hope it will be a big success.

For the Wheelchair event we will wait to see how many entries there are before determining whether players should partner up or if they will play as individuals with and against others in their group.  Same for the Junior Events.  We would ideally like there to be sufficient players for partnering up so that everyone can have their games on the Pickleball England Tournament Software (PETS).

Along with the registrations for the events, we are also offering purchase of raffle tickets.  £5 per ticket.  There will be plenty of big prizes.  First prizes to be announced are a Franklin Net and a Top Spin Pro.  As we announce new sponsors we will add prize information to the raffle.  The plan is to draw the raffle ahead on the first day of the tournament, so that the winners can pick up their prizes at the event.

OPEN Doubles (shared):   1st £2400; 2nd £1200; 3rd £800; 4th £400; subject to meeting a minimum entry threshold 5-8th (losing QFs) £100 (returned entry fee)

OPEN Singles:  1st £1200; 2nd £600; 3rd £400; 4th £200; subject to meeting a minimum entry threshold 5-8th (losing QFs) £50 (return of entry fee)

Senior OPEN Doubles (shared):   1st £1000; 2nd £600; 3rd £300; 4th £100 (returned entry fee)

Senior OPEN Singles:  1st £500; 2nd £300; 3rd £150; 4th £50 (return of entry fee)

All Days are 8am start and 8pm scheduled finish.  Players will receive their own schedule ahead of time and should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their first match.
